Dr. John Gonino, D.O., P.A.
Dr. John Gonino received his Regents diploma in 1979 in his home state of New York. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Cortland In June of 1983. He earned his masters degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Connecticut in August of 1984. He moved to Texas for his masters internship with Kenneth Cooper, M.D. and the staff at the Institute For Aerobics Research. After serving three years as an exercise physiologist cardiac stress test Technician and nurse aide, Dr. Gonino entered medical school in Fort Worth. There he received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree in June of 1991 from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduation, he began a three year family practice residency, based at the Tri-City Hospital in Dallas. In July of 1994 Dr. Gonino opened his private practice.
It wasn’t until December of 1995, when his wife became unexplainably fatigued that he explored integrative medicine. Through the direct teachings of Majid Ali, M.D. (President of the American Academy of Preventive Medicine) and through their study of Andrew Weil, M.D., Deepak Chopra, M.D., Stephen Sinatra. M.D., and John Lee, M.D., Dr. and Mrs. Gonino were able to bring her back to health. Over the past 14 years we have instituted a fifteen point wellness program that has a large number of success stories and expects many more in the future.

Tetsuya Hasegawa, D.C., A.T.C., C.S.C.S.
Dr.Tetsuya Hasegawa “Dr. T” is the new chiropractor for Gonino Center for Healing. He was born in Fujinomiya, Japan. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma, where he worked as a student athletic trainer for football, wrestling team, with Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Sports Sciences. After successful completing certified athletic trainer (ATC) and certified sports and conditioning specialist (CSCS) examinations, he joined the University of Mississippi Sports Medicine team as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the football and baseball team. While at University of Mississippi, he earned his Master’s of Science in Health Promotion degree. He graduated with Magna Cum Laude and Dean’s List from the Southern California University of Health Sciences with the Doctor of Chiropractic in December 2007. For the 2007-08 seasons, he was asked to join the United States Olympic Committee Sports Medicine team to provide care for the USA Bobsled and Skeleton National teams.
Dr. T’s main focus is to maintain the optimal function of YOUR nervous system. Any dysfunction of nervous system “Subluxation” can cause any problems in your body. The headache you have, heart burn you had last night, constipation, menstrual cramps, pain you have in your shoulder may cause by subluxation. Having strong background of any sports injuries and any extremity conditions, including, Nasal Septem and TMJ, Dr. T is ready to serve you achieve optimal function of your body.

Michael Hannah M.S., LPC., L.C.D.C.
Michael Hannah is a psychotherapist who has been in private practice and treatment centers for over nineteen years. In his early years working in treatment centers, Michael worked with troubled teens/young adults and their families. His focus was on addictive behaviors along with emotional, psychological and behavioral issues that occur with the individual and family members. He was also a program and clinical director during those years. In private practice Michael works mostly with adults. However he continues to work with pre-teens and teens that have a willingness to address problem areas in their lives.
Michael believes in identifying where the individual is out of balance in four areas of functioning; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. He uses a cognitive/behavioral approach to help his patient s identify faulty beliefs that cause responses to events in life to be negative and possibly harmful to these four areas. While the patient is working with Dr. Gonino and his staff, Michael will facilitate the patient to change beliefs that will affect positive changes in their emotional/behavioral responses to life’s events.
Michael graduated from A and M Commerce with a Masters degree in counseling. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependence Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas

Jignesh “Jay” Mistry, MPA-C
Jay graduated from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, with a Biological Science Degree and from Alderson Broadus College, Philippi, West Virginia, with a degree in Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. Jay has over 8 years of patient care experience working in Home Health, Phlebotomy, Clinical Rotations, and Cardiology.
Jay also graduated from the Saba School of Medicine in 2002. After spending time with practicing physicians, Jay realized his true calling. He wanted to be able to spend more time with patients rather than just dispense medicine. This led him to attend the Alderson Broadus College where he learned to focus his attention on patient history and wellness.
After Jay’s mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2007, his family searched for a holistic approach additional to her traditional chemotherapy and radiation treatments. From learning about the different wellness approaches to treatment, Jay became interested in holistic approaches to not only treating illnesses but curing it as well.
Jay was born in Gujarat, India, and migrated to the US at an early age. Jay and his wife of 10 years have a high energy toddler that keeps them on their toes. They all live in Addison, TX close to his wife’s Consulting firm where, she presides as the CEO. Jay is excited to start his career in Family Practice with The Gonino Wellness Center where he knows he can be a valued asset of the team.

Hope Merritt, R.M.A. ,Office Manager
We are pleased to announce we have a new manager, Hope Merritt. We are very fortunate for the opportunity to have Hope with Gonino Center for Healing. Hope has been in the medical field in and around the Rockwall area for 19 years and has been in the management area of the medical field for over 6 years.She brings with her a vast knowledge of the latest business techniques in the medical field. This experience has benefited the practice immensely. Her compassion and concern for patients is evident to all. With the professionalism of her managment style, she has brought synergy to every department within our clinic which has proven to make the office run more efficiently than ever before and that is benefiting our patients on a daily basis.
