John Gonino received his Regents diploma in 1979 in his home
state of New York. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State
University of New York at Cortland In June of 1983. He earned
his masters degree in Exercise Physiology from the University
of Connecticut in August of 1984. He moved to Texas for his
masters internship with Kenneth Cooper, M.D. and the staff
at the Institute For Aerobics Research. After serving three
years as an exercise physiologist cardiac stress test technician
and nurse aide, Dr. Gonino entered medical school in Fort

based at the Tri-City Hospital in Dallas. In July of 1994
Dr. Gonino opened his private practice.
It wasn't until December of 1995, when his wife became unexplainably
fatigued that he explored integrative medicine. Through the
direct teachings of Majid Ali, M.D. (President of the American
Academy of Preventive Medicine) and through their study of
Andrew Weil, M.D., Deepak Chopra, M.D., Stephen Sinatra. M.D.,
and John Lee, M.D., Dr. and Mrs. Gonino were able to bring
her back to health. Today they have instituted a fifteen point
wellness program that has a large number of success stories
and expects many more in the future.

Susan
Attel R.N., MSN, FNP |
Susan received
her Bachelors degree in nursing from Baylor University School
of Nursing in 1999. She began her nursing career in neurology
at Parkland, where she developed an interest in community
health through the epilepsy outreach program. It was this
interest that led her to graduate school, to pursue an independent
role in community health. In December, 2003, she received
her Masters Degree in Nursing at the University of Texas at
Arlington.
Susan's interest in integrative health began with back pain
that was relieved by a combination of medical treatment, physical
therapy, energy healing and relaxation breathing exercises.
After an accident led to chronic neck pain, she again turned
to integrative medicine, and was greatly assisted with the
combination of therapies. Prayer, meditation, and yoga were
also invaluable during this time. With the education of Western
medicine and experience with integrative medicine, it seems
only natural for her to become part of the Gonino Wellness
Group. She looks forward to being with others in their journey
of wellness and integration in this environment of well being
and openness.
Susan and her husband Tim have a young son who fills their
home with joy and laughter, the best medicine! They also have
a German shorthair pointer who is truly man’s (and boy’s)
best friend. She travels to visit family and friends as often
as possible, especially home to Louisiana. She participates
as a community member in an international organization that
keeps communication and fulfillment as what’s most important,
even in difficult circumstances. This can lead to powerfully
connected healing with her patients. As Dr. Gonino says, Love
Heals!

Robyn Craig received
her Bachelors degree from Texas Tech University School of
Nursing in 1990. Following graduation, she moved to Rowlett
and began her career at Baylor University Medical Center in
the field of Oncology/Hematology. After seven years at Baylor,
she took a job at LakePointe Medical Center in Rowlett. It
is at LakePointe that she met Dr. Gonino and developed an
interest in his approach to medicine.

goal of obtaining a master’s degree and certification
to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner. During her last
semester at Texas Woman’s University, Robyn completed
required clinical hours at the Gonino Wellness Group, working
alongside Susan and Dr. Gonino. Following graduation in May
2007, Robyn became part of the staff at Gonino Wellness Group,
and has enjoyed her new role and all that it brings.
Robyn has a wonderful husband and two beautiful children.
She enjoys reading, baking, camping, traveling, spending time
with her family, and watching her children grow.
Robyn is excited to start this new chapter in her life in
the town that she has lived in for 14 years. The community

Susan “Sue”
Miller, R.N., M.S., FNP-C |
Susan “Sue”
Miller graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor’s
degree in nursing. After graduation, she moved to Dallas and
began work as a nurse. She has a combined 20 years of nursing
experience in medical/surgical, hematology/oncology, and school
nursing. She has also been a pharmaceutical sales rep. She and
Robyn Craig have known each other for 15 years after having
met as nurses at Baylor on the hem/onc floor.
Sue graduated from Texas Woman’s University in May of
2007 with a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She became interested in the Gonino Wellness philosophy when
she spent time during a clinical rotation with Susan and Dr.
Gonino in their office. She was impressed with the idea of trying
to solve health problems, instead of placing a “Band-Aid”
on them. Liking the idea of helping patients live life to the
fullest, she became part of their staff in May of 2007.
Sue, her husband, their two teenage children, and their Westie
live in Rowlett. They are always busy with band, soccer, harp,
and dance. Her husband, Doug, is an assistant principal at Rowlett
High School. Since Sue has a history of fibromyalgia and her
mother has multiple sclerosis, she has a special interest in
patients with chronic illness. She believes the Gonino Wellness
Group has so much more to offer when looking for answers to
managing illnesses of any kind and moving on with a happy, healthy
life.
